Art on the Docks Newsletter

Our Philosophy

As it is true of people, it is true of art, ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’. We also believe that art should not just don the walls of museums and fancy galleries but should be in plain view for average every day folks for the sheer enjoyment and appreciation of it. Art is for the soul.

Our Mission

Our mission at Art on the Docks is two fold:

1) To provide our customers with a wide range of beautiful, hand-painted oils on canvas at affordable prices, and;

2) Through our bi-monthly Artist Showcase, to promote the talent of young, unknown, or aspiring Florida artists. We are always looking for new artists who want a place to display their work where lots of people will see it. As hundreds of people from all over the state, country and world visit the Sponge Docks daily, our shop is the ideal place for an emerging artist to display their work. (Please call the gallery for more details.)

She has tutored under Hilda Rubin, formerly of the Academy of Vienna; Berufsverband Bildendekuenstler in Hanover and Frankfurt, Germany; and at the renowned Staedelhochschule, also in Frankfurt.

For many years Jacqueline did commissioned watercolor landscapes of the Renaissance Castles in the Loire Valley and for California Castle Vineyards.

She now turns her incredible artistic talent to pet and people portraits both in charcoal and pastels. Each Saturday evening from 4-7 pm you can come and see her work her magic and, of course, arrange to have a portrait done of yourself, a loved one or a pet at a very reasonable price!
